Bell, Los Angeles County
Bell is named for James George Bell, who settled here in 1876 and whose Victorian farmhouse is preserved as a small museum. The town incorporated in 1927 and filled with modest homes for workers in the nearby factories of Vernon and Maywood. The city is small, roughly two and a half square miles, and lies along the west bank of the Los Angeles River six miles from downtown.
